Do I need an account to use Retropic?
No. You can shoot, review sessions, and export videos without an account. Sign-in is only needed to purchase or restore Remove Ads across devices.
Where are my photos stored?
All photos and sessions are stored locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.
How do I export a video?
Open a session, tap Export, pick your frame rate, then tap Render. When it's done you can share it, view it in your gallery, or just dismiss.
What is Remove Ads?
A one-time in-app purchase ($2.99) that permanently removes all ads. It restores on any device when you sign in with the same account.
How do I restore Remove Ads?
Go to Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. You need to be signed in with the same account you used for the original purchase.
What is the ESP32-CAM feature?
Retropic can connect to a DIY ESP32-CAM module over your local WiFi, letting you run fixed-position timelapses remotely. It's a beta feature — find it in Settings → RetropicCam (Beta).
What are the capture modes?
Timelapse captures on an automatic interval (seconds to hours). Stop motion lets you tap for each frame. Daily takes one photo a day — you can set a reminder so you don't forget.
Can I delete individual frames?
Yes. Open a session, tap a frame to select it, then delete it. Changes are saved locally.
Why does an ad appear after I export?
The free version shows an occasional ad after exporting (not every time). Purchasing Remove Ads turns this off permanently.
The app crashed or something isn't working — what do I do?
Email us at support@retropic.app with your device model, OS version, and what happened. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.
How do I delete my account?
Email support@retropic.app to request account deletion. We'll take care of it within 30 days.
Is Retropic available on Android and iOS?
Yes — available on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).
Is there a web version?
Not currently. Retropic is a mobile-first app built around on-device camera capture.
